Here is the latest pictures of Stella. Just got her all ready for emissions last week then Arizona passes a new law that motorcycles no longer need emissions... FINALLY! So waited all this time for nothing. Took her out for a 5 mile ride to check things out. I will continue a few mile road tests for the next few days and weeks and start building up distance. Why you ask? The XS650 is a twin, and since I have dropped a good 100lbs from the bike it is light and vibrates just short of a bull running down the streets of vegas in a parade. Because of the vibrating engine, bolts loosen and parts become roadkill. 

I debated for a long time whether to even register it, instead make my own license plate or leave the entire bracket off. Many people don't realize that driving is a regulable activity requiring registration and the driver to have a driver's license. In the United States we have a constitutionally protected right to travel unencumbered. Recent updates since the last post:
  • Got my new High Output PMA (Permanent Magnet Alternator) installed.
  • Installed new PAMCO Electronic Ignition System.
  • High Output Coil with wires and plugs.
  • New rectifier wired to PMA unit.
  • All electrical wiring is soldered for a longer life.
  • Soda blasted the engine.
  • Got my seat mounted with tabs and golf cart spring (sprung seat), feels like riding on air!
  • Chain Tensioner with old school skate board wheel mounted.
  • New front brake line.
  • Carbs 90% rebuilt (not pictured).
 
I got my new wheel and tire in today. They unfortunately sent me a 16" rim instead of an 18" rim. So I am sending that back for an exchange. However I removed some of the rear end to make room for the new rear wheel. It is starting to take shape.

I am messing around with some axle plate designs. I have settled on this style, it looks like a looped hardtail but is very simple.

Last night I took my fender to my neighbors to plasma cut some of the sides off since it rolled all the way around the wheel. I just want a fender to cover the top of the tire and match it's profile. After I got it back I had to do some pounding to shape it how i wanted it. Here is a picture with the fender and seat. Final plan is the fender will start at 12 o'clock and end between 3 and 4 o'clock. The seat will be about an inch or two back as well.
